Meetings: Held the third Wednesday of January, April, June, August, October & December. Business Meeting at 7:30 PM followed by a program. Location: Holiday Inn Express on Leader's Heights Road, York, PA.

Newsletter: The CANINE CAPERS is published 6 times a year and sent out to all members. It contains news regarding club business, upcoming activities, show wins and articles.

Awards night: This evening is set aside to honor those members who have achieved titles and honors in conformation, obedience and or fieldwork. Usually held at our June meeting.

Lost & Stolen Dog Committee: This committee serves the community in so far as we assist in, the recovery of both lost and found dogs. Because of the contacts our committee has we are able to help in the recovery of stolen dogs. We work closely with local animal control officers, shelters and police departments. Contact numbers are Susquehanna Stray Animal Shelter: 717-244 9747 and Animal Rescue: 717-993-3232.

Canine Good Citizen Test: Our AKC Canine Good Citizen Test is held at various locations in York County. Most dogs that have attended obedience school (10 weeks,) could pass the 10 part test. To contact an AKC certified tester or for information call Carol Dotts 717-862-3443.

Breed Referral Service: York Kennel Club has a breed referral service for people unable to find certain breeds of purebred dogs, This referral service also has numbers for various breed rescue organizations. Please refer to our online Breed Referral List

Legislative Committee: This committee works behind the scenes to encourage passage of proposed laws that will benefit the pets regardless, of breed. Our rally for the consumer protection "puppy law" brought attention to our lawmakers that a Consumer Bill was needed and it was passed to the club's delight.

Community: The York Kennel Club is extremely proud of the role they play within the community. Whether helping recover a lost dog, educating the public about responsible dog ownership, offering breed ring training, breed referral or just being there to see that our pets are treated fairly, we are dedicated to the idea that pet ownership Is a privilege for all to cherish and enjoy.
